If you are a band interested in playing at The Pour House Music Hall please read the following:

The Pour House Music Hall is basically a destination oriented music venue that relies mostly on local, regional, and national touring acts with substantial marquee value in the market. Our goal is to book only bands that come as close to packing the venue, while at the same time satisfying our expectations of musical excellence and professional stage presence.

1) Have you ever played Raleigh before?
The Pour House Music Hall is a smaller more intimate live music venue. It is not, however, a small enough venue to break bands into the Raleigh scene. We are only looking for bands with marquee value in the area to help us fill the venue each night. If you have played in Raleigh before please include when, where, and how many paid.  If you have not, please be prepared to try a few support slots on the weekends or an earlier night in the week ~ Sunday/Monday/Tuesday.

2) Do you have a booking agent?
The Pour House Music Hall rarely accepts bands that are not affiliated with a booking agency. Bands affiliated with booking agencies have normally been around the block a few times and are more familiar with what it takes to make a successful show. Sorry, but this is just the nature of the business. If you do not agree, then you probably have not been around the block.

3) Can you bring 200+ people to your show?
In order for a show to be considered successful at The Pour House Music Hall we like to see 200+ people paid at the door (ranging from FREE to $25 cover). If you do not have marquee value in Raleigh you will not bring in 200 people to The Pour House Music Hall. We have only seen a hand full of local bands ever come close to filling The Pour House Music Hall. If your band has never played Raleigh before the chances are very very slim you will get an option for any night of the week other than Sunday/Monday/Tuesday.

4) Do you play mostly originals?
The Pour House Music Hall is mainly interested in booking original bands.  However, we are not opposed to a professional cover/tribute act. We are open to just about every single musical genre there is!!

If you DID NOT answer yes to all 4 questions then we suggest a few things:

1) Be prepared to try a show on Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday night here by being able to provide your own small PA system. We have found this to be a great way for smaller bands to get their foot in the door and see what The Pour House Music Hall is all about at the same time.

2) Trying smaller venues in the area that cater to all ages. As you know, there are many, many, many, many more bands than there are nights of the week. Playing the smaller venues first will help you establish a "buzz" in Raleigh as well as a fanbase to help you get a foot in the door here at The Pour House Music Hall.

3) Try opening up for a larger act on a weekend night to get in front of a crowd and gain some exposure. This will get your music out as well as some email addresses to help establish your own fanbase in the area.  Please read below...


Do we have opening acts?
Of course, we have opening acts just about every night.  The headliner is typically responsible for picking and compensating their support.  Therefore, go ahead and pitch the idea directly to the headliner confirmed on our music calendar for the date you're interested in.  If the date has not been posted yet, please keep an eye on our music calendar.
